Supervised by Tatsuya Nakamura, Executive Creative Director of BEAMS, this pair was inspired by American sneakers from the late 1910s.
It fuses the 1980s sneaker style—during which Mr. Nakamura refined his fashion sensibilities—with the Japanese craftsmanship cultivated by SPINGLE.

■ Timeless, Simple Beauty Loved Across Generations
In the 1930s and 40s in America, shoes combining canvas with rubber soles were embraced in resort wear and summer tailoring. In the 1950s, they became popular alongside Ivy style, establishing themselves as a casual yet refined footwear choice paired with chinos and blazers.
This style was subsequently passed down to 1980s Tokyo.
From French casual pairings of striped T-shirts and sneakers to neat, tailored outfits based on Ivy style, the enduring appeal of canvas sneakers loved across eras and styles has been reconstructed into a contemporary pair.

Inheriting the thin sole and sharp silhouette reminiscent of vintage sneakers from that era, it pursues supple flexibility and durability through SPINGLE's proprietary rubber sole and vulcanization process.
The laces are made of cotton. From material selection to fine details, every aspect has been carefully crafted with a classic aesthetic in mind.

■ Made-in-Japan Craftsmanship Alive in Every Process
The sole uses original rubber compounded and produced in-house. Through the vulcanization method, the upper and sole are firmly bonded together.
From material selection and sole compounding to stitching and pressing, production is carried out entirely in-house at SPINGLE's own factory in Japan, meticulously finished pair by pair through the skill of seasoned artisans.
Far more than a simple vintage reissue, this pair expresses a lineage of style flowing from American sneaker culture to 1980s Tokyo through Japanese craftsmanship.
